TERAMO. The playground located in the Ivan Graziani gardens, in front of the Teramo court, is in critical condition. A long stretch of fence has been missing for months, so the area is no longer separated from the road, and other points appear unsafe with wooden poles uprooted. One of the slides no longer has climbing ropes and is broken in several places. The large swing was never put back in its place and the support sits there, naked and useless. In recent days the two small spring horses were also broken: one is lying on the ground, abandoned among the other toys and used in an improper and dangerous way by the little ones. The anti-trauma mat is often invaded by breaches and waste, just as the benches almost sink right into the breach. A desolate scenario for one of the most popular spaces in the city: it is in fact located a stone’s throw from several schools and is also a point of reference for children and families. A maintenance activity has been awaited for some time, but nothing has been done and indeed the games are increasingly unusable. There is very little left in the center for the little ones: the playground between via Di Paolantonio and via Diaz is in fact inaccessible due to redevelopment works. Also in this case it is one of the spaces most used by children but it took years before action was finally taken to remove the old toys and redevelop it. The works are progressing and should be completed by the summer. Meanwhile, there remains a lack of decent places for children in the city centre.
