“ARPAD, Regional Association for Domestic Animal Protection, is a dog shelter located in Licola Mare, in viale Sibilla, Pozzuoli. It was born in 1984 by Giovanna de Vita, a literature professor from Pozzuoli with a great love for dogs, who took out a small plot of land to save dogs abandoned during bradyseism. Giovanna, together with a group of volunteers, gradually fenced it until it has now become a shelter of excellence that can accommodate up to around 400 dogs.

….

The refuge is supported thanks to donations and fundraising events, such as sales of artefacts by volunteers or solidarity dinners.”
