VANDŒUVRE-LÈS-NANCY (FRANCE)– Amauri Ribeiro’s Italian team fails to attack the World Super Six podium. In Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy, France, the women’s national sitting volleyball team surrendered, in the final for third place, to the World Champions Brazil 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-22) who had already defeated Barigelli and co in yesterday’s match.

Italy therefore closes the World Super Six, which saw the participation of the best teams on the world scene, with two victories (France and Canada) and four defeats (USA, China and two with Brazil) and looks forward to the continuation of this long summer season, which after a period of rest, will see Bosio and her teammates participate in the international tournament in Assen (Holland) scheduled from 4 to 8 July, before the key event of the season: the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Returning to today’s match, Brazil started better in the first set. As the minutes passed, Italy tried to react but, thanks to a few too many errors on the Azzurri’s side, they were unable to mend the situation. At that point the world champions Brazil managed their advantage well and closed 25-13.
In the second set the Italians started well with Brazil forced to chase. The central phase of the set, however, highlighted a Brazil that was attentive and capable of causing difficulties for the Italians. The end of the set was rich and exciting and saw a very good Italy give Brazil a hard time (21-21). In the tense final, Brazil found the winning streak 25-23.

The inertia of the match remains in the hands of the Brazilians even at the start of the third set. Italy tries to keep up with their opponents while also showing some good plays.

Bosio and her teammates, however, cannot find continuity in their game and their opponents grind out points until the winning attack of the green and gold captain Petit Cunha who closes the set and match 25-22.
