The victory dinner of the Giallorossi Contrada
Legnano – Even if it flashes and thunders, the Sun of Legnarello has not gone out and on Saturday 15 June, more than 900 Contrada people took refuge at the Pala Borsani for the Victory Dinner n. 13.
Nono square and no Crocione overlooking the church door but the people of the Contrada worked hard to color the tensile structure of the Pala Borsani yellow and red and the scenic effect was of great impact.
The crucial moment of the evening should have been the exit of the Crocione from the church, a tradition that the weather did not allow, but the Legnarello district celebrated by looking at the images of the first battery and the victory. At the end of the video, Duccio and his friend reappeared, determined to reach the courtyard of Via Dante on their Vespa to watch from the rooftops the arrival of Crocione in the district. At that point the twist: the Vespa left the video and actually appeared entering the Pala Borsani, where the two characters celebrated together with those present, providing moments of hilarity before reaching the roofs of the scenography from where they looked at the images from last year’s victory.
During the evening there was no shortage of celebratory moments with the kids of the district who they paid homage to the squire Luca Lavazza and the homage of the regent Castellana Michela Sala to the former Castellana Francesca Bandera. The final part of the dinner served together with the double dessert also an unofficial and revisited version of the honors to the Carroccio.

“This evening we will perform a subject”
What was staged last night was not just a dinner, but almost a theatrical piece in which we “acted a story” to put it in Pirandello’s words. The outline had already been drawn up during the propitiatory dinner and told the story of two characters: a fervent Contrada supporter and the neophyte “Duccio da Carugate” who, knowing nothing about the Palio, had been intrigued by his friend’s passion. Among the characters also the Doorman of the court of Via Dante who dreamed of becoming the voice of the Palio. Wish granted when, taking off his doorman’s clothes, he appeared Andrea “The Voice” Muroni, official voice of the Palio di Legnano which for years has been shaking the Mari stadium with its “Honours to the Carroccio”.
A dedication to the scarf
The dinner was also an opportunity to reveal an anecdote from the contrada told by Andrea Muroni, the one who in the 90s wanted to create the scarf that still flies from the stands today and embraces the contrada members who proudly wear it around their necks. The scarf and belonging to the Giallorossi colors were dedicated by the two Contrada members Giulia Landoni and Mattia Peraro.
