FOGGIA – Weekend of reflection for Foggia and Audace Cerignola, who from tomorrow will resume contacts, surveys, negotiations and business to prepare for the next football season. A year that will see the two clubs of the military Captaincy together, for the third year in a row, in Serie C.

Foggia is busy rebuilding the technical area, after last season ended with an eleventh place finish without infamy or praise, the disappointment of failing to qualify for the playoffs and the consolation, albeit meager, of having at least avoided worse troubles , because at the beginning of February the team was in the midst of a crisis of identity, play and reliability and was at risk of relegation. The Rossoneri club will almost certainly have a new sporting director, with Emanuele Belviso who will most likely remain with the club in another role. For the sports director seat, the favorite is Domenico Roma. Lucano from the province of Matera (Policoro), 48 years old, Roma was the sporting director of Messina last season, who with Modica on the bench and a team made up of interesting young people, after an uphill start managed to save themselves by avoiding the playouts. For twenty years in football, Roma has collected various experiences as a manager, in different roles: he was team manager of Cosenza, sporting director of Rossanese, of Qormi Football Club (Malta), of Vigor Lamezia Calcio, Castrovillari and Lavello, general director of Bojano, responsible for the scouting area of Vibonese and collaborator of the scouting area of Turin, Bari and Cosenza.

The agreement with the new sporting director could be made official next week and the name of the coach who will replace Mirko Cudini at the helm of the Rossoneri could also be announced. Foggia’s intention would be to rely on a coach who knows Serie C and is willing to get involved in an ambitious club such as the Rossoneri, eager to return to playing a leading role, to try to win promotion to Serie B. .

Cerignola, on the other hand, is already projected towards the construction of the new team, 2024/25 edition. The yellow-blue club has already established some fundamental pieces for the restart: it confirmed the sporting director Elio Di Toro, it renewed the contract of the coach Giuseppe Raffaele and the Spanish midfielder, former Foggia, Miguel Angel Sainz-Maza, and finally it announced the first purchase of this transfer market which will officially open on July 1st but which is already in full swing: the midfielder Riccardo Vono, born in 2000, last season playing for Chieri in Serie D, where he made 24 appearances and scored nine goals . In the next week, sporting director Di Toro will resume work on the market to formalize other confirmations and purchases. As for possible departures, D’Andrea and Capomaggio are among the most requested yellow-blue players: Serie C and B clubs like them. L’Audace has no intention of depriving themselves of them, unless essential offers arrive, for the players and for the club.
