sixteen teams between Calabria and Sicily, who from Campania?

There will be no repechages in Serie C among those entitled to take part in the Serie D championship, Group I is starting to take shape.

To date there are four Calabrian teams, considering Reggina, Locri, Sambiase and Vibonese, while Eccellenza’s playoff winner, Vigor Lamezia, was eliminated in the chase for a place in the fourth series.

Enna and Nissa were promoted from the two groups of the Sicilian Eccellenza and Paternò thanks to the victory of the Italian Eccellenza Cup. The only Sicilian team competing in the national play-offs is Modica.

With four Calabrians and considering the current Sicilians, there would be 16 teams entitled to participate in Group I. The roster should therefore be completed by two (in the case of an 18-team championship) or four (in the case of a 20-team tournament ). In this sense we would go fishing among the bells, in the current season divided between groups G, H and I: a choice at the discretion of the LND. Barring further Calabrian-Sicilian grafts, the Campania teams should not be numerous. The inclusion of Nocerina and San Marzano should be avoided, as they intend to aim high.

Here are the current beneficiaries:

CAMPANIA – Real Casalnuovo (title passed to PUTEOLANA), Portici (title passed to SAVOIA); TEAMS IN GROUP G: Nocerina, Ischia, San Marzano; TEAMS IN GROUP H: Gelbison, Paganese, Palmese, Angri; promoted by Group A Excellence: ACERRANA; promoted by Group B Excellence: SARNESE

CALABRIA – Vibonese, Reggina, SAMBIASE, Locri

SICILY – Syracuse, City of Sant’Agata, Ragusa, Acireale, Canicattì, Igea Virtus, Akragas, Licata, Sancataldese, NISSA, ENNA, PATERNO’

PLAY-OFFS SECOND EXCELLENCE – On the occasion of the last Board of Directors, the National Amateur League established the criteria for carrying out the promotion play-offs between the runners-up in the Excellence championships.

Seven places are up for grabs for the 2024/2025 Serie D among the twenty-eight participants in the national playoffs which from the end of May will face each other in two rounds with home and away matches. The pairings for both phases were established through a full draw for the north, center and south areas. Abruzzo moved from the southern area to the central one to balance the number of participating companies. The order of each match in the first round was also decided by drawing lots.
