The financial endowment of the scholarship for the “IO Studio” program, promoted and financed by the Ministry of Education and Merit and managed by the Regions, has risen to 390 euros. The decision was made by the Councilor for Education, Roberto Santangelo, who gave the regional offices the mandate to increase the scholarship for high school students in the Abruzzo region from 150 to 390 euros. “Faced with a well-defined number of applications received by the municipal offices in relation to the resources that the Ministry has entrusted to us – explains councilor Santangelo – we have decided to increase the financial allocation of the grants to be delivered already this year rather than moving the resources for the next school year or decide to return them to the Ministry of Education. We are convinced that such a significant increase in the initial endowment can only benefit young students and their families, in addition to the fact that it strengthens trust in the school system which has shown itself willing to implement important reward measures in the face of commitment of the students”.
The “IO Studio” program provides for the annual allocation of resources to the Regions for the creation of scholarships for high school students, entrusting the Regions themselves with identifying the criteria for access to the program. For the 2023/2024 school year, the applications admitted to the IO Studio program were 2,430 compared to approximately 950 thousand euros of resources allocated to Abruzzo. By 30 June the Region will communicate to the Ministry of Education and Merit the number and list of Abruzzo students benefiting from the scholarship with the related amount of 390 euros. Subsequently, in the autumn, the Ministry will mandate post offices to pay the scholarships.
