Pistoiese at the first moves. The market comes alive

Federico Cardella and Francesco Manuzzi. One of them could be the first, important market coup of the new FC Pistoiese. Both attackers have ended up in the sights of sporting director Taibi, who would like to inaugurate the signing campaign with a mind-boggling addition. Cardella, born in Rome in 1994, was the top scorer in Group G of the last Serie D, thanks to nine goals scored against Ostiamare and 12 against Nocerina in the second part of the championship. Manuzzi, on the other hand, was one of the protagonists of the historic promotion among the professionals of Alcione Milano with ten goals in 34 appearances. He too is born in 1994 and has achieved four consecutive seasons in double figures, the first with the Sammaurese jersey and the last three with the Milanese team. Curiously, it was Aglianese who dealt the attacker in the summer of 2021 after the record-breaking season in Romagna, with Manuzzi then choosing to move to Lombardy. However, the numbers are enough to make it clear that both would be valuable pieces on the orange chessboard, which will still have to be completed with pieces of equal thickness.

In this sense, as we also reported yesterday, there remains strong interest in defender Francesco Bertolo, playing for Team Altamura coached by Giacomarro in the recently concluded championship. Hiring a “backbone” of quality and quantity as soon as possible would be the perfect starting point for putting together a transfer market in which attention will also have to be paid to the quota package. In this sense, the return of Samuele Diodato, who split his time between Pistoiese and United Riccione in the last championship, seems ever closer. The new name could instead be that of central defender Raffaele Cuomo. Born in Pistoia in 2006, he is the captain of Fiorentina Under 18, with whom he made 31 appearances in the last season, to which must be added three tokens and a goal at the Viareggio Tournament. A player with a secure future who will however have to be given time to integrate into “big” football.
