«Gentlemen, tickets! Obliterate! Off we go!’ Thus began yesterday morning at the textile museum “Once upon a time ul Gamba de legn…”, a tour that took a group of kids with their parents for a walk around Busto Arsizio along the route of the old tram.
Led by Alberto of the Cooperativa Oltre Confine onlus, the procession wound its way from the textile museum along via Calatafimi, first stop Madonna in Prato, then piazza Manzoni in front of the schools, via Mazzini, piazza Trento and piazza Garibaldi. Then the tram continued along Corso XX Settembre: in short, the “Gamba du legn” route from Gallarate to Milan with a stop in Busto Arsizio.
Curious the children asked questions or the tram leader questioned the children and explained curiosity, anecdotes, characters. In short, a page of the city’s history was dusted off by interacting with the kids. A way to introduce children to the history of Busto Arsizio in a playful way.
They were given historic tickets, timetables and were given engaging explanations: there wasn’t one missing delicious stop which has rediscovered a delicious culinary tradition linked to the tram.
The route ended at 11.30. The museum and territorial education office was responsible for planning and organizing the route.
The next steps of the program: next Saturday, June 22 “Walking through the history and traditions of Busto”, 6 July “Richino Castiglioni between art and architecture” and Saturday 13 July repeat of “Once upon a time in Gamba de legn”.
