In Campomarino, during a territorial control service, the soldiers of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Carabinieri Company of Termoli (CB) arrested a 40-year-old from the province of Foggia in flagrante delicto, already known to the police for police and criminal records, for possession for the purpose of dealing drugs.
The operation took place when the police stopped the man while he was passing through the town center driving his car. The subject’s nervous behavior and the circumstances of time and place led the military to proceed with a personal and vehicle search. During the search, a block of hashish weighing approximately 101 grams and five heat-sealed plastic wrappers containing cocaine were found inside the car, with a total weight of approximately 43 grams.
The drugs found were seized, pending laboratory analysis and subsequent storage at the competent Crime Branch Office. The man, having ascertained his criminal responsibility in relation to the crime of possession for the purpose of dealing drugs, as provided for and punished by art. 73 of Presidential Decree 309/1990, was arrested and transferred to the nearest prison, remaining at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Larino (CB).
Subsequently, during the hearing before the competent Judicial Authority, the arrest was validated, as it was carried out legitimately, and the 40-year-old was subject to the obligation to reside in the municipality of residence.
