For days there has been talk of Nicola Nardella’s alleged resignation from the role of general director of the USL Umbria 1. “We would be the 21st health manager who wants to resign from his position,” reported Tommaso Bori, councilor and regional secretary of the Democratic Party. A phenomenon that Umbria has never experienced in the past and which would create further problems for the regional healthcare system. In this case even more difficult to explain to the Umbrians given that Dr. Nardella was recently appointed. “They were asked to wait for the runoffs, as if this could open the citizens’ eyes to the state of healthcare,” adds Bori. A complaint that is rejected by Nardella who finds “certain statements out of place and above all I regret being the subject of exploitation in a political debate, as I am a technician”. He then adds: “No resignation from office is currently expected.” Nardella then asks to “be kept out of the political battle”. Who is right then? Just wait until the end of the month to find out if the news revealed by Bori is true. However, if Bori, Dr. Nardella, an undoubtedly serious person, is right, he will have to apologize to the Umbrians and explain why he waited so long to announce them.
