we need to keep the flame of struggle alive

TURIN – «Today we need to keep the flame of the struggle alive, especially in this moment that seems like the dead of night. Tonight the stars will guide us: the memory of those who preceded us, the strength of those who don’t want to give up, the love of our traveling companions, the anger that runs through our veins. We fight with determination and we do it with all means!” said Luca Minici, coordinator of the Turin Pridefrom the stage in Piazza Vittorio, remembering the love and struggle that guide the 2024 edition of Turin Pride.

More than 150 thousand people invaded the streets of Turin today, each bringing their own uniqueness, their own colors and the many battles that the LGBTQIA+ community still finds itself having to fight. More than 1.6 kilometers of procession at its longest point.

18 floats and more than 50 participating companies they gave life to a long procession through the streets of Turin, from Corso Principe Eugenio to Piazza Vittorio. At the end, the associations of the Turin Pride Coordination and other guest organizations spoke from the stage, expressing all the anger and hope of the Turin LGBTQIA+ community, the goals achieved and the many political requests still unheard. With them also Michele Bravi, super guest on the Turin Pride stage, who brought all his support to this year’s edition.

«When I tried to look at the back of the procession, and I couldn’t see the end, I realized that our battles march on thousands and thousands of legs: we are the tide! A tide that does not end here and today, but will invade every space and will not retreat until we achieve real change!” comments Margherita Anna Jannon, secretary of Torino Pride.
