Trapani, Legambiente goes “to discover turrigni” • Front Page

Actuality

“Discovering turrigni”. It is the initiative of the “Nautilus” club of Legambiente Trapani with the aim of enhancing the most representative places of the city.

The series of meetings opened with the participation of the public and representatives of renowned associations such as Aiab Sicilia, CIF Trapani, Italian Red Cross Trapani, Fidapa Paceco and in the presence of the councilor for social services of the Municipality of Trapani Giuseppe Virzì, in partnership with the Ermes association and with the patronage of the Municipality of Trapani.

The idea of this project was born from the growing demand for culture, highlighted among other things by the increase in visitors to art cities and represents a great challenge for the protection of heritage, therefore, making it necessary to strengthen and differentiate the offer for citizens and visitors to our country. Volunteering, with its great human resources and the strong civil passion that characterizes it, can contribute to improving the functioning of museums, libraries, archaeological parks and, more generally, places of cultural, environmental and historical interest.

The objective is to activate a process of participation of citizens and tourists in the enjoyment of the historical-cultural and environmental heritage of the city of Trapani, promoting the understanding of cultural heritage as a common good for all citizens. We wish to create periodic events in order to promote these cultural initiatives.

As a first appointment, the member Giuseppe Cammarata, passionate about the history of Sicily and in particular the history of Trapani and Erice, was involved with “A people has no identity if it has no memory of its own history”. The evening ended on the terrace of the Tower, witnessing the sunset between the Egadi Islands, a true spectacle of nature.
