An entire day of celebrations in Matera for the 250 years of the Guardia di Finanza, which has defended the legality and rights of citizens since 1774. After the conference at the Ridola Museum on the history of the Fiamme Gialle, with a focus on the figure of the Lucanian General Massaioli, to crown the celebrations, in the evening, in Piazza San Pietro Caveoso, the concert of the Fanfare of the Legion of Students of the Guardia di Finanza of Bari.

From the opening with the official march of the Fiamme Gialle, to jazz reinterpretations of Giuseppe Verdi’s most famous songs, passing through “Mamma” and “Non ti scordar di me”, interpreted by the Matera tenor Francesco Zingariello, up to ” Life is beautiful”, soundtrack by Nicola Piovani for the film by Roberto Benigni, performed by the Fanfare of the Legion of Students of the Guardia di Finanza with the children’s choir of the Giovanni Paolo II Institute of Policoro. A rich musical program that enchanted the audience in the heart of the Sassi.

The evening, hosted by the journalist Antonella Losignore and the communicator Dino Paradiso, saw among the exceptional guests the Lucanian actor Rocco Papaleo, who offered a short monologue on Basilicata.

Great emotions then for “Mediterraneo”, one of Mango’s great successes. The song was performed by the Fanfare of the Legion of Students of the Guardia di Finanza and directed by Rocco Petruzzi, historic keyboardist of the band of the Lucanian singer-songwriter from Lagonegro who passed away in 2014.

The concert will be broadcast on TRM Network on Sunday 16 June in prime time at 9.00 pm.
