Fiumicino towards sustainable transport: three new electric buses

The Councilor for Construction, Local Public Transport and ATER, Angelo Caroccia, went to the “Trotta Bus” depot in Fiumicino to view the arrival of 3 new electric buses which will soon enter service.

“A further step towards a greener and more sustainable Municipality” – stated the Councilor – The vehicles will enter service on Line 7 in the historic center of Fiumicino and at a later stage on Line 8 as a connection to Leonardo Airport. Win. The buses have a capacity of 36 passengers; ultra-modern equipment with 3 security cameras, electric platform for access for disabled people and sockets for charging mobile phones on board. They are the first buses that will offer the service and following the experimentation, we will evaluate the impact on the territory and their comfort to extend the “total green” service to other lines as well. However, we keep in mind that most of our buses in service are already supplied with “ECO” diesel, which has been in operation for several months, without any polluting impact.” concluded Councilor Angelo Caroccia.
