PESCARA. Police blitz, yesterday evening, between the resulting area, the bus terminal and the adjacent public gardens, in the area located close to Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, Via Silvio Pellico and Piazza Martiri Pennesi. The checks focused on the prevention of crimes against the person, drug dealing and illegal immigration. The men of the police station, the Abruzzo crime prevention department and the Polfer are in action, with the contribution of the local police, the labor inspectorate staff and the Pescara Local Health Authority.
Anti-drug activities are also important, carried out with the help of the police station’s canine units. A man was found in possession of hashish for personal use and, therefore, reported to the administrative authority with the consequent seizure of the narcotic substance. 218 individuals identified, of which 37 with criminal records; several of them were accompanied to the police station for identification procedures. Then 74 vehicles were checked. Finally, there was no shortage of sanctions for violations of the highway code.
In a note, the police recalls that in the resulting area “the daily patrolling carried out by the flying squad is already underway according to the coordinated territorial control plan. Furthermore, extraordinary territorial control services are arranged weekly with the precious contribution of the department crime prevention in Abruzzo. The constant and visible surveillance activity carried out also with the use of anti-drug canine units, expressed through identification procedures, inspections and searches of people, means of transport and baggage, as well as control posts, has allowed prevent and combat illegal phenomena”.
