CATANZARO: THE MYSTERY OF THE EMERGENCY ROOM IN CODE RED

It is increasingly problematic to have to accompany a family member to the “Pugliese-Ciaccio” emergency room in Catanzaro, aware of the well-known tragedies that disturb us in the ward among ill-fated and even unfortunate people of all kinds.
There were too many delays in the diagnosis, as happened to a patient who was “ignored” by the same operators for 6 long hours of waiting, so much so that everything will be justifiable by an emergency room that prolapses in code “red”.
Yet the same patient accompanied by her husband, barely contained her suffering, caused by the considerable illness of those who should be “urgently” sent to the ward, after having explained every detail to the incoming manager and beyond the glass.
The two spouses were then joined by a friend who came to support them due to the mortifying continuation of the “shameful” experience, and found themselves forced to desist from that now denied right to health, how painful it was for them to learn that the police were not supposed to intervene. , according to the operator, despite the heartfelt telephone appeals, therefore, without any breakthrough on the location of the “mystery”.
The diligent maneuver of redirecting the two protagonists towards a private analysis laboratory allowed the lady’s doctor to immediately evaluate a worrying clinical picture with an “urgent” request for hospitalization and at the same hospital, based on the criticality of the confirmed pathology which if deferred, as happened, would also put life at risk.
This is why it will be precisely the immediate laboratory tests, remedied in record time, that will employ the first treatments, necessarily being subjected to the scrutiny of every medico-legal and judicial expertise, for the reasonable doubt that it has happened once again and to the detriment of the citizen, the enormous crime of “medical malpractice”.
It is hoped that the courageous maneuver which took place to protect oneself will improve the health conditions of the woman, after the “sad” misadventure which requires a due reconstruction of all the movements which may or may not have occurred in the mystery of an emergency room always in code (g)red, given the inconsistencies and the characters within it, so serene, undisturbed and who knows, perhaps, free to decide who enters and who does not, who lives or who dies.
