Thirty-four screenings in the ten municipalities of the Imola area for the eleventh edition of ‘Cinema on tour’. Everything is ready for the start of the traveling exhibition dedicated to the seventh art, with the title ‘Cinema and its music’, which from 22 June to 9 September will bring the masterpieces of the big screen to your home. The idea was born some time ago from the collaboration between all the municipalities of the union with the desire to enhance the territory through original cultural itineraries of great resonance for the citizens. And ‘Cinema on tour’, a format now consecrated by public acclaim, winks at those places where there are no cinemas.
A beautiful aggregative and social initiative, also useful for curbing the plague of loneliness. A selection of quality films, with strictly free screenings, and never overlapping dates. Variety, inclusiveness and sharing of spaces, therefore, are the strengths of an event designed to strengthen the value of sharing between the ten realities of the surrounding area. “A summer tradition of our territory that brings a quality product everywhere – explains Giacomo Gambi, Imola councilor and member of the surrounding culture table that oversaw the project –. The common thread of this edition is the relationship between cinema and music. Two arts closely related that integrate perfectly thanks to the cinematographic medium. A useful tool, in terms of multisensory experience, to promote a culture accessible to all”.
The initiative, with the start of the films always set on the agenda at 9pm (complete program available on the social and web pages ‘cinemaintour’ and ‘Nuovo Circondario Imolese’, starting on the 22nd in Imola with ‘The Wizard of Oz’, ed.) benefits of the support of the Hera Group and is among the events supported by the Region with its Film Commission. Furthermore, the Imola evenings are supported by the Cassa di Risparmio di Imola and Ancescao Foundation. What titles are scheduled? They range from authentic ‘musts’ like Chicago to Alice in Wonderland to the immortals Saturday Night Fever and The Blues Brothers. Then the wonderful Ennio, Elvis, Veloce come il vento, A casa tutti bene and Diabolik. But that is not all. Here is a mini-review of ten themed short films, selected by Ennesimo Film Festival of Modena, to accompany the best-known films. In short, a complete signature menu to spend carefree evenings in the open air and in company. Cinema on tour 2024 is part of the Bologna Summer 2024 programme.
