Transport, inspection by councilor Ciliento on the construction sites for the undergrounding of the railway line – AndriaLive.it

This morning the regional councilor for Transport and Sustainable Mobility of the Puglia Region, Debora Cilientovisited the construction sites of the large infrastructural project for the undergrounding of the railway line that crosses the city of Andria, together with the top management of Ferrotramviaria, the implementing body, representatives of the Municipality of Andria and the regional councilor Grazia Di Bari.

On this occasion it was possible to verify that the excavation work on the trench that will host the tracks in the city is progressing and that it has been possible to overcome some of the problems encountered relating to interference with the gas, sewer and electrical and the characteristics of the soil and rock to be excavated.

«Today we took stock of the situation of an important work for the city of Andria, for the Bat territory and for the metropolitan area of ​​the north of Bari – said councilor Ciliento -. We listened and understood the needs of the construction site and closely observed how the works are progressing in various parts of the city. The dialogue with Ferrotramviaria is constant and, together with the Municipality of Andria, we will always be careful to follow the progress of the works and give the necessary support so that the Great Project reaches completion according to the deadlines dictated by the EU.

This is because the city of Andria deserves to have a modern, safe and efficient railway connection and to have a central station again which, like all stations, is a place of sociality and hospitality. Furthermore, citizens deserve to see the streets freed from construction sites and interruptions, so as to no longer have to face the inconveniences experienced in recent times.”
