The prefect suspends the vice mayor from office – L’Aquila

SAN VINCENZO ROVETO VALLEY. After the residence ban comes the suspension from office of the vice mayor of San Vincenzo Valle Roveto Umberto Niscola.

This afternoon the prefect of L’Aquila Giancarlo Di Vincenzo ordered the suspension and instructed the Mayor of the Marsican town to urgently communicate the act to all the municipal councillors.

Umberto Niscola was hit by the precautionary measure of ban on residence in the Marsican municipality and could not carry out his functions in the municipality.

The prefect took note of the order with which the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Avezzano Daria Lombardi ordered the application of the precautionary measure of the residence ban against Niscola as part of an investigation which would have ascertained that the Air Force soldier would have carried out extra-professional activities in the commercial sector, not related to his main job as a public employee, receiving both salaries and not declaring income of 240 thousand.

Furthermore, by carrying out the role of councilor and deputy mayor “with artifice and deception”, Niscola allegedly misled his superiors by obtaining permits for which he did not go to work for approximately seven years, “achieving an unfair profit” of approximately 248 thousand euros.
