The arrest of eight members of the Di Silvio clan – Ferdinando Di Silvio known as Macvò, Giovina Di Silvio known as Anna or Piki, Antonio Di Silvio known as Cavallo, Salvatore Di Silvio known as Piccolo, Antonio Di Silvio known as Pippino, Stefania De Silvio, Sabiuccia Di Silvio known as Cucca and Sabiuccia Di Silvio known as Mammona – and the precautionary measure of the residence ban for three women (Rubina Di Silvio known as Cerella, Giovina Di Silvio known as Paparella and Ermana Pagliaroli, the first two sisters of Macvò, the last partner of Cavallo) turned the spotlight on the third branch of the family, still active after the Scarface and Alba Pontina operations which had defeated the clan headed by Giuseppe Romolo and that of Armando “Lallà”, respectively.

This time, however, the drug trafficking was headed by Ferdinando, known as Macvò, son of Carmine “Lallo” Di Silvio, the third founder of the family (but not investigated in this investigation). It is the 47-year-old who manages the drug business from his home in Via Giulio Cesare, coordinates the activity carried out by his close family members, and supervises the packaging and distribution of the narcotic. Everything, relying on the closest family ties and avoiding conflicts and conflicts with suppliers.

In his house it was exclusively cocaine, available in the apartment only in the quantity to be dealt during the day and the rest kept by other family members or in nearby stables. The volume of business was considerable: up to one and a half kilos of drugs a week, for a profit which, according to the reconstruction of the justice collaborators, could have been around 25 thousand euros a month. All the members of the association and therefore of the family participated in the packaging and retail sale of the doses, but the women, in particular the “spinsters”, as Macvò’s sisters were defined, were reserved in particular for the role of lookouts. Outside the house protected by cameras, they had the task of warning those inside in time of the possible arrival of the police, so as to allow the group to promptly dispose of the narcotic in the event of searches.

The investigation conducted by the Carabinieri of the investigative unit and coordinated by the DDA of Rome covers a period of time between 2021 and 2022, a period in which Macvò’s group was active in the same neighbourhood, that of Campo Boario, in which the other branches of the family, with whom there was a pact of mutual respect and interference. Business was therefore also going well for this part of the family, which until yesterday had continued to act under cover and had never been affected by the investigative activity of the DDA. The new investigations, however, arose from the declarations of the already well-known collaborators of justice, but also from the spontaneous declarations made by one of the members of the same family who, despite having secondary roles, knew all the internal dynamics of the group and the affairs of Ferdinando and Antonio Di Silvio.

The reconstructions were then supported by the interception and observation activities organized by the police, also with the use of cameras installed in strategic points of the two city districts in which the drug dealing had been organised.
