Paolo Maldinihistoric captain and legend of Milan, was a guest of theAKOS podcast by Luca Gemignani. These are all his statements:
The “monotony” in his career: “I wouldn’t consider it a monotonous path, on the contrary, but a path full of ups and downs and full of satisfaction, done thanks to God at the highest level. I believe that the luck of an athlete who plays in a team is to find a club that has the same ambitions as you and that has the ability to help you reach your maximum level. I was lucky enough to be talented and have had a team that aimed for the highest goals. This was the number one secret to having such a long career within a club.”
The beginnings in the youth sector of Milan: “I started at 10 years old. It wasn’t late, it was exactly the limit: under 10 you couldn’t be registered. In the previous years you played at the oratory, in the gardens… You did technique in a different way. Then later when my children went to the youth teams you could even go to the 8s with Christian and the 6-7s with Daniel. The rules have changed”.
