The season of National Junior Under19 it ended in Finlandwith the participation of the red and whites in the international tournament organized byIlvesteam from Tampere (in the south of the country).
Varese debuted against the Home team’s spring, losing 2-1 in a match that, in terms of technical content, had very little that was friendly. After the final lead, it was Photos to score the equalizer, while in the final the yellow-greens put their heads back and defended the result until the final whistle. The red and whites, however, did not lack congratulations from the Finnish technical staff.
Satisfaction that was not lacking even the next day, when Varese dominated NoPS 4-0 (Finnish Pro League): Arrighi, Columbus and the double from Asta they sealed a splendid victory, the best way to end a long and intense season. In Finland, however, the red and white lived truly special daysuseful to further cement a group which, as confirmed by mister Alessandro Ungheronext year he will be asked to take a further step in terms of maturity.
“We arrived in Tampere – says Unghero himself – and the boys immediately had the opportunity to train in the latest stadium of Ilves, the Finnish Serie A team, where we played against their Primavera team in a match that left me very satisfied despite the result, because my boys had was able to express and maintain his playing identity and an excellent attitude throughout the match, also deserving compliments from the Technical Management of the Ilves company. The next day my boys and I had another test match against NoPS, a Lega Pro team, and it was the last match of the season for this magnificent group: I asked the boys to enjoy it and end the season in the best possible way and they succeeded by putting in an excellent performance, winning 4-0. It was an experience that we will all carry in our hearts forever and that helped me, my staff and my team to grow and deal with another reality with another culture.
