A new union ordinance was recently issued to regulate the nightlife in Marsala, with immediate effect and valid until December 31st of this year. This provision concerns the administration of alcoholic and spirit drinks, as well as the management of sound systems.

Based on the needs of public safety and the results of the meetings in the Prefecture, the ordinance was introduced to prevent episodes of disturbance of public peace, vandalism and fights often associated with nightlife, especially during the summer when there is a greater turnout of people.

The main provisions of the ordinance include:

– Ban on the sale and consumption of alcohol: From 11.00 pm to 6.00 am, the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages and spirits in public places is prohibited, with the exception of authorized establishments.
– Ban on glass or tin containers: During authorized public events, it is prohibited to sell and consume drinks in glass or tin containers.
– Rules for special events: For events such as the “Marsala Kite Fest IV edition”, the ban on the sale and consumption of alcohol can be brought forward, as in the case of June 15th at 10pm.
– Regulations on noise emissions: Operators must respect the regulations on noise pollution and sound emission limits for music both inside and outside the premises.

Furthermore, for musical events, authorizations must be submitted in a timely and correct manner to the SUAP via the “impresainungiorno” online portal.
These measures aim to ensure a safe and pleasant night-time environment for all citizens and visitors of Marsala.
