Fabio Pecchiacoach of Parma promoted to Serie A, spoke from the stage of the Milan Football Week organized by La Gazzetta dello Sport: “There is a desire, there is an intention to continue the work in Parma. Victories are all beautiful, we do this job to win. They are all different, Venezia had the obligation to win and Cremona was a fairy tale. This year has been a great satisfaction, with a long journey.”
When did you realize it was possible?
“We were the hare, everyone thought and hoped that we could descend. Always being first there is an extra burden: I knew that the journey was long and only at the final whistle in Bari did I understand that we could ease the tension.”
Serie B is very balanced, do you agree and why?
“Because there is a very high and balanced level, the difference is made by the continuity of the work, the most sensational example is that of Bari who went from the playoffs to the playouts in 12 months”.
Can your way of playing be reproduced in Serie A?
“It’s clear that there is a difference, this year in the Italian Cup we played four games against Serie A teams and we haven’t changed. We carry two years of work with us and there is a desire to follow this path.”
What has the Krause property taught you?
“I was lucky enough to work with Benitez, to have filmed and this opened my horizons. I believe that football in Italy is changing, what I experienced in Parma is a property with a long-term deadline, of thinking about 2-3 years and not six months. Then there is business, but this way of organizing is totally different from an Italian club.”
Who would you take from Como?
“Fabregas… I have some doubts about his age, but our president could make an exception for him.”
A B player you liked?
“I’ve already said it in the past, I really like Raimondo della Ternana. Young people must be able to play, then I also really liked the Cremonese and the final part of the Feralpisalò”.
