Three questions to… Eugenio Fea

Who would have thought that a shy Alfieri student who took his first steps in the theater under the wise guidance of Professor Priarone would become an established actor within a few years and would participate in the creation of Asti Teatro 46… Instead Eugenio Fea he realized his dream and this year he was called, alongside Mario Nosengo, in the organization of the 2024 festival.

We had the opportunity to hear directly from him, who also recently became a father, about his feelings about this new, great experience and about future projects.

What was your first thought when you were called to the Asti Teatro 46 staff?

“I was very pleased but it wasn’t a surprise because already two years ago the councilor Candelaresi asked me what my idea was for changing Asti Teatro. I sent him some of my impressions and already last year, unofficially, I joined the team: this year my position became official alongside Mario Nosengo. The first thought was a feeling of joy, but also of fear in doing something for my city even if I no longer live here, but I have many friends and relatives, also taking into account their tastes”.

What is your role in the organization? What did he do?

“My role is that of artistic co-direction alongside Mario Nosengo who entrusted me with the organization of the Off or Under 35 section, called ‘new creative languages’. I shared this role with Marina Occhionero and together with her the idea was to create hybrid shows that include theatre, music, contemporary art and there will also be a photographic exhibition. There will be shows accessible to the visually impaired, live painting shows, a show on eating disorders: in short, a cross section. It’s a great opportunity to discover talent and to give young people and new, small emerging companies the chance to debut and make themselves known.”

Tell us about your show “Piena come un uovo” which will be on stage at the Spazio Kor on June 25th and about your directorial debut.

““Full as an egg” is a production of the “Caterpillar” theater company in Milan of which I am a founding member, with my classmates from the Accademia dei Filodrammatici founded in 2017 after graduation. It’s an official directorial debut but I’m not alone: with me is Luigi Aquilino, also from Caterpillar. The role of director gives you more responsibility, but in our company it is a team effort, where everyone must know how to do everything. In this work we divided the tasks among ourselves.” “Full as an egg” deals with the topic of eating disorders, taken from a text by an American author, never performed in Italy, produced by Monica Capuani”. The show, a stand-up comedy with four actresses on stage who play four characters who talk about the relationship with food and with themselves, and the great chase for the perfect weight. The show is part of a real Caterpillar project which will be explained before going on stage. also with the exhibition of Sara Castiglioni, photographer with the exhibition “Punto e Virgola” always on the topic. The theme is very current because food occupies 70% of our day, the complicated relationship between body and food offers topics for reflection that we leave to the public. We also employ a team of psychologists to study the problems and also a nutritionist (Alice Parisi) in this case, to delve into the topic scientifically, and we are bringing it to schools. We started from the “Carlo Porta” high school in Monza”.
