Last commitment of the season for the Gea Basketball Grosseto which on Saturday evening at 9.15pm is engaged at the Certaldo Palasport against the local Virtus team in the last match of the Final Three of the regional Division 1 championship. The match has no interest from the point of view of the result as the Cus Florence, by winning in Grosseto and subsequently beating Virtus Certaldo in front of a friendly crowd, mathematically guaranteed promotion to Serie C. The two rivals will therefore compete for second place and to end their season in the best possible way. «We prepared the match as if it had the importance we expected a few days ago – underlines the coach Marco Santolamazzawhich will be replaced for the occasion by Silvio Andreozzi, as he was disqualified for three matches – we have worked well during these last few days and we are ready to give our best, even if unfortunately we will have a reshuffled squad due to some defections.” In fact, Lorenzo Scurti, Davide Liberati (serving the first of a seven-match suspension), Lorenzo Fanelli and Giovanni Piccoli will not be there. Mattia Ricciarelli and Edoardo Delfino will return in their place. Gea will therefore go to Certaldo with eight senior players plus the unders Alvarez Rodriguez and Baccheschi. «Our objective – concludes Marco Santolamazza – is to play a dignified match also to forget the disastrous and daring defeat against the Florentines which prevented us from playing until the end for promotion to Serie C».
