A stamp dedicated to the Tower of Pisa

There Tower of Pisa becomes an Italian stamp, issued today by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy within the thematic series the Italian artistic and cultural heritage. Circulation: 300,015 specimens.

“The cartoon depicts the Tower of Pisa, the bell tower of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta which stands majestically in Piazza del Duomo, also known as Piazza dei Miracoli, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, an iconic symbol of Pisa and Italy in world”, recalls the ministerial note.

The stamp is completed by the legend “Tower of Pisa”, the writing “Italy” and the tariff indication “B Zone 1”.

The stamp saw the commitment of sketch artist Maria Carmela Perrini and is printed by the State Printing and Mint Institute in rotogravure, with four-colour printing on white, neutral coated, self-adhesive, non-fluorescent paper with a weight of 90 g/m2.

The support is instead white paper, 80 g/m2 monosiliconed Kraft, on water-based acrylic adhesive, distributed in quantities of 20 g/m2 (dry). The paper size is 30 x 40 mm and the print size is 30 x 36 mm, while the tracking size is 37 x 46 mm. The serration? 11, made with die-cutting.

The sheet contains 45 copies. On the selvedge, the monochromatic reproduction of the Mimit logo.
