Martino Pirone, in his book “Memories and thoughts of a life”, recounts the moments, reflections and places of his existence, since he moved from Monteforte Irpino to Varese, where he now resides as a pensioner after a long career in the Prefecture.
The presentation of the work will take place on Saturday 15 June at 6.00 pm at the National Carabinieri Association, Varese section, located in via Domenico Romagnosi 9, Varese.
The event will be moderated by Mario Visco, responsible for the culture page of La Prealpina. Roberto Leonardi, President of the Varese section of the National Carabinieri Association, will open the meeting with institutional greetings. The Prefect of Varese, Doctor Salvatore Pasquariello, will also be present.
A journey that will not just be a nostalgic re-enactment, but a book which, thanks to the author’s detailed narration, retraces moments of life lived in a town in the South and offers a precise reconstruction of the activities carried out in the offices of the Prefecture of Varese, including events institutions and portraits of colleagues and prefects. Through the pages, the reader will be involved in a vivid and passionate story, which not only describes daily events and work dynamics, but also the author’s emotions and personal experiences. The narrative, full of details and anecdotes, transports the reader to a bygone era, allowing us to better understand the historical and social context of those years.
At the end of the presentation, some copies will be available for purchase and the proceeds will be donated to the social projects of the National Association of Carabinieri of Varese.
