1000 miles between the unique villages of Tuscia and Umbria

Fresh from yesterday’s catwalk in Rome, in via Veneto, during which the cars were presented to the public on a splendid Roman evening with a summer flavour, this morning the convoy of the 1000 Miglia 2024 set off from the capital: the historic cars took the away early from Parco de Medici, while the Ferraris of the Tribute 1000 Miglia restarted their engines at Villa Borghese.

At the microphone on the platform yesterday, many drivers did not fail to mention the difficulty of today’s stage: waiting for the crews in the next few hours there will be 38 Time Trials and 3 Medium Trials along a route of 590 kilometres.

The first Stamp Control of the day was held in Civita Castellana, an ancient volcanic tuff village in Tuscia built on the ruins of an ancient Etruscan city and renowned for its sanctuaries and necropolises, which make it a very precious archaeological centre, and for the production of ceramics exported all over the world.

The subsequent stamp check took place in Umbria, among the imposing polygonal walls of Amelia, while the inaugural block of Time Trials of this fourth stage was scheduled in Baschi.

Following the passage from Orvieto, in which the cars, immersed in a unique atmosphere between medieval architecture and Renaissance art, will parade in front of the imposing Cathedral.

A few kilometers from the charming village, the Castello della Sala Media Test will take place: starting from Pianlungo, the test will lead the crews to Ficulle, a village of good living, while before the lunch break there will also be time for Time trials in Montegabbione, among the hills, olive trees and vineyards of the Terni countryside.

Brunello Cucinelli and Solomeo will open their doors to historic cars: the village of Cashemere and harmony will welcome the most beautiful race in the world with the Castle, the Church of San Bartolomeo and the Aureliana Neohumanistic Academy, right up to the heart of the company. The 1000 Miglia 2024 ranking moves after Baschi’s tests: Alvierti and Valente are now second, followed by Belometti-Bergomi and Turelli-Turelli. Fontanella and Covelli slipped to fifth, with Vesco and Salvinelli still in the lead. The Sangiovanni are now second at the Ferrari Tribute ahead of the Smussi. Frank Binder and Giordano Mozzi lead.
