Two total tax evaders were identified by the Financial Police of Piacenza, as part of an investigation into tax evasion in the restaurant sector.
The Fiamme Gialle, following preliminary findings obtained by cross-referencing the available databases, identified three commercial businesses for which joint tax violations were possible, as well as health and hygiene deficiencies and transgressions regarding safety in the workplace. Thus the inspections began, together with the firefighters and the ASL Food Safety office.
The checks revealed that two of the three financial years verified were unknown to the tax authorities for not having submitted, in the tax years from 2020 to 2022, the annual returns for the purposes of income taxes, VAT and IRAP, with a taxable base subtracted with taxation of approximately 1 million euros.
IRREGULARITIES at work
In terms of employment, irregularities were found, both due to the presence of illegal wages for 5 employees, as well as the failure to establish the single labor register, which is mandatory by law. The total amount of the sanctions amounts to approximately 25 thousand euros.
Health regulations were also violated, due to the poor hygienic conditions of the premises in which the catering activities were carried out, and in terms of fire prevention regulations, due to the presence of some gas cylinders stored incorrectly and dangerous both for the workers and for the public. Furthermore, an administrative fine was imposed against one of the restaurateurs due to the lack of traceability of the food, which was seized to be destined for destruction.
HYGIENIC DEFICIENCIES
A second operator was instead sanctioned for failure to comply with the general and minimum requirements established at European level regarding hygiene. Finally, again following the verification of this last violation, the temporary suspension of activity was triggered for the third economic operator.
Two restaurateurs were also sanctioned for irregularities relating to safety in the workplace, simultaneously requesting the adaptation of the premises to the provisions of the regulations in force.
