Two thousand years of history of the Church of Trento, from its origins to the present day, represented in one hundred evocative images, created by well-known Trentino artists on precious parchments and collected in ten volumes. It is the project entitled “A Church in images”, the result of the idea and passionate research work of the archbishop emeritus of Trento, Msgr. Luigi Bressan.
“A Church in images” will be illustrated for the first time to the public and media operators on Saturday 15 June at 11 am in the church of San Francesco Saverio in Trento, in the presence of the curator, Msgr. Bressan, and Archbishop Lauro Tisi. “From the first traces of faith to the figure of Bishop Vigilius, from the martyrs of Anaunia to the episcopal principality, from the construction of the cathedral to the Renaissance, from the Tridentine Council to the missionary and ecumenical vocation – we read in a note -: the artists tell the story, each with the originality of his style, personality and events of the Trentino Church. Their interpretation is accompanied by texts edited by Msgr. Bressan, an invitation to reread in depth the history of the Trentino believing community to look at today and the future with new enthusiasm”. The works will largely remain on display in San Francesco Saverio until June 30, as part of the initiatives of the diocesan project “Chieseacolori”, coordinated by Alessandro Martinelli. Don Andrea Decarli, diocesan delegate for Culture, will also attend the presentation with him. The authors of the historical-artistic tables are, in alphabetical order, Marco Arman, Gelsomina Bassetti, Giorgio Conta, Bruno Degasperi, Caterina Han, Silvio Magnini, Fabio Nones, Rosetta Pomaro, Linda Serafini and Fabio Vettori.
