If sport is a training ground for life, good teachers are needed to give substance to this assumption.
And a master of sport and life is certainly the prof. Domenico Borelli who, this afternoon, during a ceremony held in the Council Chamber, was awarded the Solemn Commendation, pursuant to the Regulations for the granting of Civic Merit.
The solemn commendation constitutes recognition for citizens for their personal contribution to the improvement of social coexistence resulting from generous commitment in the field of work, in the production of goods, in professions, in commerce, in sport, in assistance to the needy, in management political and administrative aspects of public and private institutions as well as for his exemplary affection and interest towards the city and community of Crotone.
To deliver to the prof. Borelli the parchment with the motivations contained in the council resolution, proposed by the sports councilor Luca Bossi, the mayor Voce.
The president of the IV Council Commission Domenico Lo Guarro was present with the mayor and councilor Bossi.
Protagonist, as Atalanta’s athletic trainer, in the conquest of the Europa League, prof. Borelli is unanimously recognized as a professional who over the course of his career has demonstrated not only great competence, but also uncommon sensitivity and humanity, contributing to the growth of entire generations, not only in sport.
A life dedicated to sport as reported in the reasons for the award: “during his career he has achieved results of national and international prestige. Results obtained solely thanks to his professionalism, competence and dedication to his work, giving prestige to the city of Crotone, towards which he has always renewed his sense of belonging, bond and love. With the humility that distinguishes him, he has contributed to the growth of entire generations of Crotone athletes, not only from an athletic point of view, educating them about respect, legality and responsibility. Values that the organization itself intends to pursue in all its activities. THEn every professional context he has always renewed his sense of belonging and of love towards his city”.

“I’m excited because I receive recognition from my city. I am a son of this land and every time I return I find the affection of my people. I thank the administration for this commendation” said the prof. Borelli who, in handing over two shirts to the mayor and councilor Bossi signed by Lookman, the protagonist of the night in Dublin, recalled that experience lived alongside Gasperini, the coach with whom he also spent important seasons in Crotone.
