The European Archeology Days are here

The appointment with the European Archeology Days will be renewed from 14th to 16th June. In Taranto, the protagonist of the three days is MArTA with a program entirely dedicated to children. In fact, they will be the “Archaeologists for a day”, engaged in the Cloister of the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto, in a laboratory that perfectly simulates an archaeological excavation and the moment of discovery of the finds.

The June 14th and 15th from 4.30pm to 6.00pm and June 16th from 11:00 to 12:30, children aged between 6 and 12, accompanied by at least one adult, will be able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere that distinguishes the life of archaeologists and will experience first-hand how much passion and care are necessary to bring to light and understand the traces of our history and our identity.

The Archeology Days in Europe are managed byNational Research Institute of Preventive Archeology of France (Institut National de Recherches Archéologiquest Préventives) and in Italy they are organized by Ministry of Culture.

The children who come to MArTA on these days will have the opportunity to savor the moment of discovering an artefact during the archaeological excavation, becoming special guides also for adults on a real journey back in time to the roots of our civilisation.

The experience, which lasts approximately an hour and a half, is reserved for children aged 6 to 12 (accompanied by an adult), up to a maximum of 15 participants. The activity will be free for children, while the cost of the entrance ticket to the museum for accompanying persons will be 10 euros, except for free or reductions provided for by law and agreements.

There reservation of all activities (mandatory) must be made to the number 099 4532112 until all available places are filled, communicating your name and surname, email, telephone number and number of participants.
