The old golden velvet seats of the Civic Theater are for sale. After the presentation of the new red seats last week, in fact, the Municipality of La Spezia issued a public notice of expression of interest for the sale of the 200 removed seats. The minimum price of each is set at 30 euros, but to apply for purchase you will need to take home at least two.
The notice is aimed at “public or private entities potentially interested in the disposal procedure” and is “aimed at receiving expressions of interest and encouraging the participation and consultation of the greatest number of entities interested in the purchase of the entire lot or part of it.” The possibility of purchasing them, therefore, is also subject to the eventuality that someone shows up with the intention of taking them all, perhaps to furnish another theater or a public hall.
The impression, however, is that many people from La Spezia will come forward to be able to bring home a piece of the history of the city’s culture, perhaps even just for the affection felt towards the sessions which for decades have hosted enthusiasts of theatre, music and show in the structure of Piazza Mentana, soon to be included in the list of national monuments.

Requests to participate can be submitted by accessing the platform https://laspezia.acquistitelematici.it no later than 12pm on 1 July 2024.
The armchairs will be sold to subjects who have expressed interest in purchasing by offering a unit price greater than or equal to 30 euros, for a minimum of two elements, as mentioned.
If the expressions of interest received are higher than availability, the award will be made to the competitor who proposed the highest purchase price. In the event that two or more competitors offer the same price, they will be asked to submit a higher offer within three days.
