After a very successful first year, First Class registrations reopen for the next school year for English and French courses and expand its offering with summer camps for children aged 4 to 6 years. “We would like to start by saying a huge thank you to all the families who believed in our project, allowing us to achieve much more than we thought possible in our first year,” he says. Francesca. “We were able to open 13 group courses and teach more than 450 hours of lessons. We couldn’t be happier!”.
And it is precisely at the urging of families that Mandy and Francesca they decided to inaugurate the first summer centers for nursery school children entirely in English.
In July for two weeks, from 15th to 26th at the headquarters of Verrèsin fact, will be heldEnglish Playschool.
From 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm the little participants will try their hand at many different ones fun and creative activities in English: painting, songs, nature walks and much more… They will be accompanied by Mandy, a native English speaker, and Francesca, a graduate in languages with a Master’s degree in teaching Italian to foreigners.
The lessons, as always, will be conducted through the use of many tools “Touch and Feel” (touch and feel) that children can actually use with their little hands to imprint the concepts even better in their minds. This is for many reasons: first of all because it makes learning easier, but also because it calms the most active children a lot by bringing their attention to a specific element, while at the same time helping even the most thoughtful ones not to get distracted.
Places for the English Playschool are very limited, 10 in total for each week.

Registration opens for the next First Class school year
Other than that, First Class also opens registrations for the next 2024/25 school yearfor both plexuses, Quart and Verrès. But here too there is great news: the courses will be both English and French.
In fact, the project expands even further thanks to the participation of a native French-speaking teacher who will complete the multilingual teaching offer. “We also thank the municipal administrations of Verrès and Quart once again”, adds Francesca, “where we found listening and help for the creation of our projects”. Partnerships which include, among other things, discounts for residents of both municipalities for enrollment in annual courses.

But whether we are talking about learning English or French, the “core” of the school does not change and its unique and effective method always remains. The First Class method is in fact unusual and playful, excellent for every age group.
“The idea is to push students towards the language in a fun and welcoming context in order to create a positive relationship with it that leads to an upward spiral of interest”, explains Mandy “In fact, the problem that many students report to us is that often, before coming to us, they have tried to study the language by approaching it from grammar and also doing lots of exercises. But once they closed the book they forgot everything. To solve this problem the only real solution is customization. We need to find what the goals and motivations of each student are and leverage those. It is precisely thanks to our flexibility that we reach the depths”.
This is why it is important to create a positive relationship with the language. “The kids must want to learn it, they must want to go home and tell their mother ‘Today I learned something new!‘. We must create a sense of security and welcome in adults to eliminate the shame of making mistakes that we all carry with us. We must awaken interest in the topics covered in adolescents by helping them relate to the great classics. While in the little ones you have to sow as many sounds as possible in order to make it easier for them when they want to disguise their accent when they grow up” adds Francesca.
And this is precisely what their method ensures. The kids’ moms and dads they can testify as much as the children (even the little ones) they learn and remember and then transfer that same knowledge at home, while singing, playing or coloring. And all the adult students they can talk about how much fun it can be to take an English lesson even if they had never liked English before.

Courses for children, teenagers and adults, collective and individual, will start from October at both locations, Verrès and Quart. For the little ones, starting from the second year of nursery school, the classes will be divided based on the school year, for adults the division will take place based on the level of knowledge. There are classes of a minimum of five to a maximum of ten students.
