Mornico al Serio (Bergamo), 13 June 2024 – Happy ending for the passing of a ten year old child, with disabilities, who had left home on Wednesday afternoon, a Mornico al Serio, in the Bassa. As the police reported, he had already escaped control on other occasions. Fortunately he is fine, he was found by a passerby under a car. It was the parents who raised the alarm in the afternoon reported missing to the police station.
Report which triggered the searches, already on Wednesday evening which, however, had not led to any results, leaving the whole country in apprehension, also in light of the terrible weather conditions and the strong storm that hit the Bassa, a real water bomb (in Cortenuova a couple was stuck in the flooded underpass).
This morning at 8am the helicopter, the dog units, the Civil Protection and the divers also arrived and began scanning the area again in the sunlight. Just a few minutes after the start of the second phase of operations, the good news that made us breathe a sigh of relief: the child had been identified. He was crouched under a parked car to take shelter from the fury of the storm and fell asleep there. He was immediately taken to the fire brigade a short distance away. The child was just cold from the night spent out in the open, but he was fine. His condition is good.
