Coming soon Calabria chefs, pizza chefs, pastry chefs, barmen, artisans from all over Italy. Over 150 professionals called together at Bob Fest (Bob stands for “Band of Brothers”), the event which will be held on June 30th at the Scolacium Museum and Archaeological Park in Borgia and on July 1st at the Tenuta delle Grazie in Curinga, also in the province of Catanzaro. Part of the proceeds from the event will go to the AIRC Foundation for Cancer Research ETS.

Bob Fest in Calabria

«The idea was born for a double reason, from the suffering and a feeling of helplessness felt following the death of my father, and from the desire to create something beautiful for Calabria and for some places in this territory that deserve to be known and lived longer,” he says Roberto Davanzowhich together with Anna Rotella gave life to the Bob Alchimia pizzeria in Spicchi in Montepaone (3 Spicchi, top rating, in our Pizzerie d’Italia guide) and always with her he decided to dedicate body and soul to this unmissable event. A day, June 30th, dedicated to sharing and tasting, which will enliven the National Archaeological Park and Museum of Scolacium in Borgia with 200 stands divided into thematic areas, from the one dedicated to Coldiretti to the area where you can try the pastry chefs’ tastings and chefs, from stands dedicated to Calabrian wineries and beer (Cala beer), to a terrace where you can try drinks from bartenders from all over Italy, up to the area dedicated to pizza chefs and street food.

Any names? Nino Rossi, Antonio Biafora, Luca AbruzzinoCaterina Ceraudo, Luigi Lepore, Alfio Ghezzi, Chiara Pannozzo, Gianfranco Pascucci, Sarah Cicolini, Nino Di Costanzo; just to mention a few. Among the pizza chefs Massimiliano Prete, Ciro Salvo, Petra Antolini, Sasà Martucci, Jacopo Mercuro, Roberta EspositoSami El Sabawi, Pierdaniele Seu, Francesco Arnesano. For the avoidance of doubt, how does the donation to the AIRC Foundation work? «The ticket, including everything (with a single ticket you can have all the tastings), costs money 100 euros in advance. Of these, 5 euros will be donated directly to the Foundation so as to have a guaranteed minimum, after which at the end of the event all the proceeds, minus expenses, will go as a donation”, explains Roberto, who together with Anna is also taking care of the gala dinner (the ticket, at 190 euros, will be available for purchase from 15 June) scheduled for 1 July at the Tenuta delle Grazie in Curinga.
