Ancona.- Marche, exports are also slowing down. If in recent years foreign sales had allowed the Marche production system to resist the recurring crises caused first by Covid and then by wars, 2024 also started badly on the export front.
“The collapse of exports of pharmaceutical products in the first quarter of the year” say the secretary of Confartigianato Marche Gilberto Gasparoni and the secretary of Cna Marche Moreno Bordoni “has provoked the more than halving of Marche exports, which fell from 8.1 to 3.6 billion euros (-4.5 billion equal to -55.5 percent). But even excluding the export of medicines, exports from the Marche region still fell by 2.6 percent. Mechanics and fashion are the most penalized sectors.”
Returning to pharmaceutical products, the contraction in sales towards China (-97.1%) and Belgium (-74.6%) was particularly negative. Overall, pharmaceutical exports from the Marche region almost dropped to zero between January and April (-90.2 percent).
“If the pharmaceutical export data is certainly cyclical and provisional” Gasparoni and Bordoni point out “What is alarming are the negative data on mechanical and fashion exports.
