In 2021, the Draghi government decided to cover part of the costs of the superbonus with the Pnrr, in such a way as to reduce the impact of the building bonus on the Italian public debt (the renovations financed in this way draw directly from the “subsidies”, therefore they do not generate new debt). Well, in recent days the Ministry of the Environment has published the census of renovations, with data divided by region and type of home, reported today by Sole24ore. The figure is impressive: 60,755 interventions for a total of 13.726 billion euros covered by European taxpayers. In particular, 6.5 billion were allocated to the renovation of 46,922 villas and 7.19 billion for the renovation of 13,833 condominiums.

There are record numbers. In Guidonia Montecelio, near Rome, the owner of a villa received 426,966.22 euros from the Pnrr superbonus. In Tarzo, a small village of 4 thousand souls in the province of Treviso, a family home received 400,410.24 euros. Finally, in Torre del Greco, province of Naples, a house received 389,429 euros for energy redevelopment. The gold medal for condominiums, however, goes to the Marileva residence, in Mezzana in the province of Trento: 38,825,822.2 euros.

The region where the most renovations covered by the Pnrr have been carried out is Lombardy, with 12,651 total interventions for 2.92 billion euros. Followed by Veneto (8,554 for 1.55 billion) and Emilia-Romagna (5,693 for 1.484 billion). In general, the Northern regions received the largest share of funding (because that is where the interventions were concentrated). Therefore, just 26.4% of the total resources went to the South.
