At the end of a long journey carried out in the Theater Laboratory “Theatre at school” and exactly one year after the wonderful performance on the ancient Roman trial, on Thursday 6 June at the Risorgimento Theater in Larino, it was repeated the annual appointment with the theatrical show created by the students of the Liceo F.D’Ovidio – of the all-inclusive “Magliano” in Larino.
A laboratory promoted by the passion and tireless and overwhelming energy of Professor Franchella, assisted by teachers Maria Greco and Maria Grazia Armento, and which lasted an entire school year.
This year the students competed with the Goldoni’s masterpiece “La Locandiera”, a must of the very rich Italian theatrical production, but also a very complex and long text to memorize. “The belief in the cultural, educational and growth value of theater supported us in accompanying our students to face the complexity and difficulty of a text from the classical tradition of Italian theatre, which represented for the actors a notable challengenot only interpretative, but also linguistic and memorization – declared Professor Franchella – with stubbornness we have overcome all the obstacles to offer you this moment of fun, but also of deep reflection”.
A show lasting about two hours interpreted in a truly extraordinary way by the students who were able to immerse themselves in the role of the misogynistic knight of Ripafratta, of the arrogant and penniless marquis of Forlipopoli, of the count of Albafiorita who thinks he can buy everything with money, of the two comedians Ortensia and Dejanira, the faithful servant Fabrizio and the fantastic protagonist Mirandolina, with her irony and her lively temperament ready to challenge prejudices and assert intelligence against the obtuseness of the misogynistic Knight, despiser of women. “The innkeeper” Mirandolina is a modern woman, aware and in control of her life: an independent woman, who is not subject to the charm of gifts, much less is she willing to accept a condition of subordination with the “protection” of a man.
Truly wonderful and engaging interpretation, continually interrupted by the applause and ovations of the audience in the room. Congratulations from the Headmaster, Doctor Sacco, to the excellent students and teachers this wonderful lively and engaging school pageas well as the hope of being able to represent in other theaters a show so wonderfully performed by these young, but fantastic and amazing actors.
