Monza, 13 June 2024 – Bottle and baseball bats for some drugs. Last Sunday night, around 3.10 am, an emergency call arrived at the police headquarters operations center reporting the presence, near a bar in Monza, of of a boy lying on the ground and covered in blood following a violent argument between boys. Once on site, the police crews proceeded to immediately reconstruct the facts and search for the alleged culprit.

Approach and dispute

Shortly before, while the victim had stopped at the bar to drink a beer with friends, he suddenly approached the group but a young foreigner asked them if they had any drugs to give him. Upon receiving a negative response from one of the boys, the young foreigner walked away and then returned a few moments later to ask to be able to buy a different type of narcotic substance and, upon receiving yet another negative response, a violent argument ensued.

During the argument, all of a sudden the stranger picked up a bottle of beer and, once it fell to the ground, he attacked the young boy, first pointing it at his face and then subsequently hitting him violently in the back. But she didn’t end there.

Improvised weapon

The attacker, having left again, returned with an iron baseball bat trying to hit the victim again, and then finally fleeing. From the initial information collected, the police crews managed to trace the identity of the attacker, a 26-year-old Sri Lankan legally on national territory.

While they went to look for him at home, the officers found him the handrail and doorbell stained with blood and the attacker with still evident bloodstains on his hands and clothes. The man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault. The arrest was validated and the precautionary measure of the obligation to remain at home during the night was ordered.
