The “adult and pediatric BLSD (Basic Life Support And Defibrillation)” course organized by the Port Authority of Livorno and the Maritime District Office of Porto Santo Stefano in collaboration with the Argentario Scuba Point – accredited BLSD Ircom training center has ended. from the Tuscany Region.
The course, divided into two sessions and conducted by qualified instructors, was aimed at 33 soldiers serving in the Maritime District of Porto Santo Stefano, including some embarked on the Corps’ naval units and others who will carry out safety checks on the beaches during the course. of the imminent start of the bathing season.
“The acquisition of the necessary knowledge in the techniques of basic support for vital functions and use of the defibrillator constitutes, in fact – say the Captaincy – an in-depth analysis of the rescue management capabilities of the soldiers of the Coast Guard of Porto Santo Stefano and is particularly important for improving one’s professionalism in carrying out the activity of safeguarding human life at sea”.
At the end of the course, the manager of the training center and the BLSD instructors wanted to thank all the Coast Guard personnel and underlined how important it is for them to contribute to the diffusion of the health culture of first aid and the use of the AED above all to the staff of the Harbor Offices engaged daily in ensuring safety at sea.
