Councillor, your comment on the electoral result in Marsala in general and within Forza Italia
“Forza Italia achieved an extraordinary result in Sicily, and was the most voted list. This is certainly the result of good regional administration, and of the party’s great commitment at all levels, central and peripheral. In Marsala I, as group leader and delegate of Forza Italia, managed to collect 553 preferences for Edy Tamajo. Very many, if we consider that the entire squadron grouped around the regional deputy Stefano Pellegrino, who could count on the support of the president of the municipal council Enzo Sturiano, of three councilors of the municipal council, and of some councillors, totaled 1264 preferences for the councilor regional Marco Falcone. Proportionately they should have catalyzed many more, given the large deployment of forces. And yet I believe that most of all the almost 3 thousand list votes collected by Forza Italia in Marsala are important: a result that makes us proud of the work done, and for which we thank the voters”.
After Tamaio’s electoral success, do you believe that the internal balance of Forza Italia will change in Sicily? According to what he knows, will Tamaio go to Europe or leave to stay in Palermo?
“The great consensus received by Tamajo with more than 120 thousand preferences is further confirmation that our choice to support him was right and far-sighted. I don’t know if this great statement will change the balance in the Region much, but it will certainly change them in Marsala, with a regrouping of the party on the positions that I have supported in recent months, in agreement with the provincial secretary Toni Scilla. As for Tamajo’s choices, I don’t think it’s right to make any predictions. Edy is a precious resource, not only for the party but for the whole of Sicily: wherever he decides to commit himself, his contribution will be of great importance”.
After the affair of the motion of no confidence toDoes the mayor still believe it is possible that those who have declared themselves to be Forza Italia can form a group with her?
“In the meantime, there are no conditions for my position, which reflects that of the Forza Italia board, to soften. The judgment on Mayor Grillo’s actions remains unchanged: we are faced with a total absence of planning and vision, with both a political and administrative failure. We therefore remain firmly in opposition. The issue relating to joining the Forza Italia group has been dragging on for too long now, and risks creating misunderstandings with those who follow our activity from a distance. In reality the story is much simpler than how it is presented: so far no request for membership has reached the provincial board of Forza Italia and the council group of which I am the group leader. In short, for months we have been discussing nothing, about councilors and councilors who have proclaimed themselves FI based on a couple of photos taken during the election campaign…”.
The last hours of the electoral campaign were characterized by the mayor’s declaration to vote for the Brothers of Italy. What do you think?
