Terni – Drugs seized by police

Terni – Coke in his pants pocket, one arrest.

“He was stopped by the State Police – we read in a note – in the early afternoon of June 26, during a check on the outskirts of the city, by the 4th Anti-Drug Section of the Flying Squad of the Terni Police Headquarters.

The officers, engaged in a service, ordered by Police Chief Luigi Mangino, for the prevention and repression of crimes related to the dealing and consumption of narcotic substances, stopped a car with a couple on board, to carry out a routine check.

The boy – the note continues -, a 33-year-old young man from Terni, immediately appeared anxious and impatient when his documents were checked, so much so that a more thorough check was carried out: In his pants pocket, the police found two packages containing 6.4 grams of cocaine. The search, which continued at her home, yielded a positive result: a total of 40 grams of cocaine and 120 grams of hashish, a cutting agent, as well as a precision scale, all the packaging material and 5,300 euros in cash, while the girl, a 26-year-old from Terni, was found not to be involved in the facts.

In the direct hearing of June 28th, the Judge of the Court of Terni validated the arrest and ordered the obligation to sign to the Judicial Police.

The boy – a member of the organized fan base of the city team – was arrested for possession with intent to deal and the Anti-Crime Division of the police headquarters is evaluating the application of the Daspo measure (the ban on access to sporting events), OUT OF CONTEXT, a measure adopted regardless of the commission of violent conduct during or because of sporting events, even against “those who have been reported or convicted, even with a non-definitive sentence, in the previous five years.

The defendant shall be considered innocent until proven guilty.

Presumption of innocence

In the Italian penal system, the presumption of innocence applies until a final sentence. Presumption of innocence is based on Article 27 of the Italian Constitution, according to which a person “is not considered guilty until a final sentence”.
