Liberaformazione Turin 13/15 June: “Agorà of social cooperatives and the professions that work there”

From 13 to 15 June the second edition of the Agorà, an initiative promoted by Animazione Sociale, the Abele Group magazine. After the first dedicated to the crisis of the educational professions, this year the debate will focus on the world of social cooperation.

Animazione Sociale, the Abele Group magazine, organizes the second edition of theNational agora of social cooperatives and the professions that work there to reflect on the crisis of social, educational, socio-health welfare and its progressive weakening.

Three days of listening and discussion to rediscover the political soul of organizations that were not created to manage low-cost services, but to change social relations in a democratic sense.

Today there is a double struggle: of social cooperatives and of the professions that work there. Labors that reflect the broader crisis of social, educational, socio-health welfare and its progressive weakening.

We will talk about it in Turin on 13-14-15 June at the second edition of the Agora (after the first in 2023: “The dignity of educational work”). The map is drawn (discover the program), we will build the route together.

There will be three days to decide what story we want to be and write in the territories. Aware that social cooperation is at a crossroads: either it repositions itself in the present and retraces future routes or it will see the sense of its presence and function impoverished.

From 13 to 15 June there will be many voices that will take turns during the plenaries at the Cinema Massimo in via Verdi 18 and the afternoon assemblies, and they will fuel the great discussion on how to relaunch the cultural and political project of organizations – the cooperatives – within which every day many professionals (social, educational, care) are at work, in often inadequate working and income conditions, to guarantee dignity, rights and social cohesion.

Your voice matters. If you are a professional educator, partner, social or care professional who works in a cooperative, manager or president, the Agora will be the opportunity to take charge of issues that can no longer be postponed.

Together, because there is no longer the time to look for individual solutions to collective problems.

During the inaugural event, on 13 June at 9am at Cinema Massimo, speakers will include, among others, Luca Fazzi, one of the leading scholars of the Third Sector world and Francesca Coin, sociologist and author of The big resignation. The new refusal of work and the time to get our lives back (Einaudi, 2023), defined as a document-volume of this time. The speaker will focus on the “escape” of professional educators and other care professions from cooperatives, trying to answer the question “how to stem the Great Resignation from society?”.
