Nothing. There are no traces of the 24-year-old young man missing at sea in Trieste since 4am on Tuesday morning, not even under water. The boy had taken part in a party in the abandoned warehouses of the old port, there was no shortage of alcohol and together with other young people he approached the sea. Surveillance cameras confirm that the 24-year-old dived into the sea voluntarily and then, after a few strokes, ended up under water. A girl raised the alarm, then taken to hospital for checks and the only one to remain on site. The searches yesterday involved patrol boats from the Port Authority and firefighters and helicopters from the Coast Guard, fire brigade, Guardia di Finanza, police and Sores. The rescuers’ activities continued during the night and this morning they were concentrated in particular in the seabed between Pier IV and Pier III. Around 12 the vehicles interrupted the search to move to the emergency motor vessel Audace off the coast of Grado. The research will continue with an underwater robot which will have the task of scanning the seabed to understand if the young man has been stuck in some underwater stilt house.
