“I needed money to treat my daughter”

“It’s true, I did the robbery, I needed money for my daughter’s treatment.” This is what Anthony Mohamed said today, the 33-year-old arrested in Aprilia on 9 June for robbery and escape, having already been detained under house arrest. The young man is accused, together with an accomplice who is still at large, of having first attacked and robbed a rider, then of having tried to carry out another robbery, this time against a pizzeria. The first victim of the two was a rider of Indian nationality who was driving his scooter while making a home delivery: the 40-year-old was approached, attacked with a stick and robbed of his mobile phone and the scooter used for the escape.

Not happy, the two, an hour later, entered a pizzeria wearing helmets and armed with an iron club: they threatened the employee by trying to take away the cash but were stopped by the same worker together with some customers who were present at the inside the club and that with their intervention they managed to make the 33-year-old lose his helmet and he ran away on foot abandoning the two-wheeled vehicle. Filmed by surveillance cameras, Mohamed was tracked down at his home by the Carabinieri of the Aprilia Territorial Department while his accomplice managed not to be identified.

Today the validation interrogation in prison by the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Latina Laura Morselli before which the 33 year old admitted everything justifying himself with the need to obtain money for his daughter. The investigating judge validated the arrest.
