There police of the Caserta Police Headquarters identified 2 Sicilian fans who, after the football match Casertana-Cataniaheld at the beginning of October, were the protagonists of an attack on some motorists in transit on via Cappuccini di Caserta, near the entrance to the variant Anas. In particular, Catania supporters, on the way to reach the motorway, stopped the minivans they were traveling in in the center of the road, blocking the vehicular flow. Once they got out of the vehicles, they began to hit passing cars with clubs and sticks. The arrival of the police force on duty at the stadium prevented the situation from escalating.

The subsequent investigations by Digos, carried out also thanks to the analysis of videos which captured some of the circumstances of the affair, made it possible to identify two Catania fans, reported for various crimes, including threats and unjustified possession of blunt objects on the occasion of a sporting event . Furthermore, through the investigation of the Anti-Crime Division, the commissioner of Caserta, Andrea Grassi, issued a “daspo” against the two for a total of 12 years, prohibiting access to all sports facilities where football events played by Catania are held, as well as by all football teams from the “Promotion” to the “Serie A”, in Italian and international championships. One of the two fans, already the recipient of a similar provision, was also ordered to report to the Catania Police Headquarters during matches of the “Catania” team.
