Armed robbery and receiving stolen goods: the 35-year-old from the Pontine capital was questioned arrested by the Carabinieri of Sabaudia
The 35-year-old from Latina, Giuseppe De Lucia, arrested last June 8, was questioned by the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Latina, Laura Morselli. for having robbed the Conad City in Via Sacramento in Sabaudia together with an accomplice. Subsequently, last June 10, despite being restricted to house arrest, De Lucia escaped from them and went to the Latina hospital, complaining of chest pains. Stopped by the Carabinieri and arrested, the man should have been taken to prison, but, due to chest pains, he was taken by the soldiers of the Carabinieri to the “Santa Maria Goretti” in Latina where he was hospitalized, guarded by the Carabinieri themselves.
The man, assisted by the lawyer Leonardo Palombi, admitted having committed the robbery, claiming to have had a car accident immediately after running away. According to the reconstruction of what happened, in reality, the man would have been chased by a man who had seen the robbery against the supermarket. Once reached, he was allegedly beaten, while his accomplice managed to escape.
The 35 year old from Latina, face known to law enforcement and judicial news for other episodes of robberies, is accused of armed robbery and receiving stolen goods. After having entered the Conad City supermarket in Via Sacramento in Sabaudia, De Lucia forced, at the threat of a gun, to have the cash sum of 2,500 euros handed over, and then attempted to leave the place together with an accomplice on board of a scooter, which was later stolen.
The young man, however, was unable to escape due to the arrival of the military personnel who blocked him. Instead, his accomplice who was waiting for him outside the robbery site escaped. The stolen goods were entirely recovered and returned to the person entitled to them. The weapon, which was seized, turned out to be a toy gun without a red cap.
Investigations are underway by the Carabinieri of Sabaudia to verify whether the 35-year-old is also involved in the robberies which took place on 3 and 4 June also in Sabaudia, targeting a tobacconist in Via degli Arciglioni and the petrol station located in Sacrament. Even in those cases, two robbers riding a scooter struck.
